Mold Between Window Panes

Recently I have started to see a new issue during home inspections, the issue is Mold Between Window Panes.

As we all know certain types of mold can cause health issues for people.

Mold Between Window Panes is caused by multiple possible ways.  One is that the mold was present during the manufacturing process in a dormant state.  Another possibility is that the mold occurs after there is a break in the thermal seal. This issue seem to occur more with inexpensive or cheaply made windows.

Here are some pictures of Mold Between Window Panes

If you see an issue that appears to be Mold Between Window Panes contact an experienced window contractor.  There are ways to repair this type of an issue with the window.  However since this issue is found more frequently in cheaply made windows, sometimes it is best just to replace the window.

Feel free to email me with any questions.  Check out my website for more Home Inspection related topics.
